Is imitation really the sincerest form of flattery?  With four Border Collies in the house, you can bet our vacuum gets a work out.  So, when it was time for a new vacuum, we shopped around and decided to purchase a Dyson because it was the best vacuum within our budget, and we were tired of buying a vacuum every year that promised to be “the one”.  Did the Dyson live up to its promise of being the best?  You bet it did, and then some!  We would buy another because the product is awesome and their service is just as wonderful, although we’ve never needed it other than to order supplies.  I was in the store recently and noticed Hoover now offers a “cyclonic” vacuum right next to the Dyson. The packaging even looks like the packaging for the Dyson.  I suppose it was only a matter of time before a copy cat version of the Dyson was released making the claim that it is now the best.  Our previous vacuums were Hoovers, and we were sorely disappointed with them, so I wouldn’t buy a Hoover, even if it is trying to be a Dyson.  The same phenomenon happens in every industry, including the carriage industry.  When a company reaches the pinnacle of success, they are offering the best product or service, and there will always be other companies riding on the coat tails trying to copy a business’s success.  Threejays Carriages is known for providing the highest customer service and professionalism in the industry, and there is no carbon copy of that available.  It’s a wonderful feeling to know that Threejays Carriages has reached a point where we are so respected in the industry that others want to be like Threejays Carriages.  It is empowering.  It makes us continue to strive to be the best while the competition continues to strive to keep up!

Eldon “Whit” Whitmore, age 91, of Lewisville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, in Lewisville. He was born March 13, 1918 in Lake Dallas, Texas to Rupert I. and Emily O. Ross Whitmore.  Whit served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Flo Terry on February 22, 1947 in Grand Prairie. He is survived by his wife, Flo; children, Linda Eudy and husband,Don, Doug Whitmore, Randy Whitmore and wife, Cathy and Pam Landa and husband, Bob;  8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Vance and several nieces and nephews.  We purchased our horse-drawn hearses and several of our horses from Whit several years ago, and we will forever be grateful to him.  We would like to thank the Whitmore family for everything and our hearts and prayers are with you. 

Our oldest mare, Bonnie, has crossed over the rainbow bridge and joined her sister who passed away earlier this month.  The two “ladies”, as I affectionately called them, were two of the best horses I ever knew.  There will never be two horses more special than Sarah and Bonnie.  They will be greatly missed.
